I beleive it must be taken with a grain of salt. Indeed the bible has caused as much pain and sorrow as good. The bible is not even complete. There were several other books written that were lost when the library of alexandria burned to the ground. The first of the gospels were not even written until at least 60 years after Jesus died. It was an oral tradition of passed on knowledge called mishna. This was because anything written could be very incriminating for the jews if the romans found it. Hence all the incredible inconsistancies of the gospels. Imagine a bunch of old men scratching their heads trying to remember what happened so long ago. Some of it is downright unbeleivable and ridiculous like Joshua making the sun stand still. Even miracles performed are hard to beleive as we now live in a world where everything must be scientifically proven for validity. The message of christ whether he was real or not has merit and shaped the world. He simplified and fulfilled the mosaic law. Everybody seems to miss the point and bury their noses in the book trying to interpret ancient laws and translate from languages no longer spoken such as koinos greek. They are getting caught up in the the letter of the law, rather than the spirit of the law. If god who created us, wished to get across a very clear message, beleive me he could. Our society is based on judeo christian ethics for which I'm greatful but there are people who can't read. There are people all over the world who will live and die and never even hear of the concept of god. Many of these are decent loving people who will live and die in ignorance of it. They have values based on common sense. For example, if I punch you in the face, chances are pretty good that you will punch me in the face. It is the rule of reciprocation. It is not a fair world and I do not beleive the bible has all the answers. It's seems that this god likes to play games with our heads for his amusement. It is time we stood up for ourselves and accept moral responsibilty by using our brains and evolve the concepts of self further by doing the best we can to make the world a better place, here and now and face reality rather than trying to interpret the world through this filter. I would like to beleive in fairy tales like everybody else, but if you fill your head with anything other than reality than you have no tools to work with in the real world.

Well I don't know too much about super heroes but that wolverine dude from the x men I could go for that. He's one cool dude. I think it would be cool to have a character with elvis presleys looks and charisma with bruce lee's fighting abilities, albert einsteins brains, hulk hogans body, louis cyr's, strength and Ghandi's caring attitude. He would be almost godlike , but have all human attributes and be easy to relate too. Nothing more special than that which we find in the best of humanity.

This is just a bunch of Jews, acting like they know the mind know the mind of god. It is written by them for their purpose and comes from their own minds. When everybody listens to, and obeys their crap,Oh, look what god did for us! Then when things don't go there way and people don't listen, there true bloodthirsty nature comes out. Now we have to use fear and threaten cause the love thing isn't working. They used any Phantasm of their minds to control people the same way the watchtower does. And it can all be justified cause it's not what we want, these are gods words. As if god himself is going to waste his time telling these bearded pompous goat herders anything. That they should give themselves that much importance, in the grand scheme of the mind of the mysterious almighty omnipotent creator of the universe is laughable and then they can justify their slaughter. How is it they can communicate with god? Well it's probably the same way the fds thinks they can justify all their injustices. You would think by now in the 21st century people would wake up, but some things never change.

Demonic expereiences
by Tyrone van leyen inall bs and religion aside we've all heard the demon stories of the witnesses but has anyone actually had an personal experience such that you can't explain with your rational mind that shocked you and may lend credence to the possibility of something paranormal.
not something hyped, or emotional, but something your gut told you is just couldn't happen and did?

I never thought I would live to see
by Junction-Guy inthe day when smoking was banned in paintsville kentucky.
this little town where my family comes from is not only smack dab in the bible belt, but is also the tobacco belt.
eastern kentuckians have a higher rate of smoking than probably anywhere in the u.s. the new ban will affect only restaurants.

I had an uncle who died of lung cancer. It wasn't pretty. He said in the 40's he asked his doctor if he minded that he would have a smoke and the doctor gave him an ash tray to put on his chest while he was examining him!

At the civic hospital in Ottawa it's the same thing, and the die hard smokers, patients included, have to cross a 4 lane highway to do it. One of these days someone is going to get hit. I'm sure the legilsators are all proud of themselves. If they can push it that far. what's next? What's a greater risk, a sick person having a smoke for their nerves, or a sick person crossing the street with racing cars where there are no traffic lights. These eggheads think they're so clever. Going that far is just a power trip for a geek, whom no one ever listened to, or took seriously in school.

Well, that's an interesting theory too. We used to hold the tuesday night book study at my dads 1st house. Not the farm house he lives in now. There was a huge painting on the wall about 4 a half and feet long by 3 feet wide. The painting was never touched, never moved, It was literally there for years. The conductor sat about 3 feet below the painting and everbody watched it fall off the wall onto his head, just after he finished the prayer. It was unbeleivable, but also very funny and appropriate. I find it strange that this is supposed to be God's place of meeting and that happened. It sure makes you think.

For me it's a roller coaster of guilt, sometimes nervous apprehension if I don't understand somebodies intentions and a nice feeling of connectedness with what we all have in common. Sometimes I have to walk away from it though. Too much sometimes. A lot to face. Sometimes anger too. With all those emotions It's amazing I can make a sane comment.

Thanks bud, I'm enjoying this. But Ive had a few clashes on here. most people are good hearted though. I carry agreat deal of anger and I try my best to contain it. I live like a hermit now and go into great depressions and introspection. I wonder sometimes if I might fall off the radar.

Gary, he is still alive, and well. I lived a street life for 6 years and 7 at the YMCA. Igot tired and sick and now he is letting me live in his triplex and is helping me . Both me and my brother can not get through. Unbeleivably he and my mother continue to bring over watch towers and nothing I say makes A difference. It is very hard to move on with life, when you can never get validation or affirmation of your ideas.
